We really enjoy this time of the year, it comes as a bit of a relief after the busy Christmas and New Year period. All our chalets are full again this week but the ski pistes are very quiet. We have good quality snow on the piste but are still waiting for another snowfall to open up the off-piste. Anne and I had the morning off yesterday and got to ski to Val Thorens for the first time. On piste the snow was really very good and with so few people around they have been able to do an impressive job of preparing the runs.
Yesterday afternoon we had to collect Laura(Chalet La Combe) from the hospital, I think this is the first time we have had a staff member hospitalised. Thankfully she is okay after being kept in for observation as a result of a collision on the snow. Might this help to slow her down, probably not. Will has performed well in the chalet in her absence but is looking forward to her return I am certain.
Finally, according to this mornings forecast we might be getting snow from Sunday. We still have a few empty beds in La Tania if fancy a late deal - there may be new snow!

The last of our New Years guests left yesterday after a good week in the chalets with groups from Scotland, Ukraine and Australia and as one of the guests said \'That wuz the best New Years I\'ve ever hud, aye it wuz\' or something like that. For those that managed to get out the skiing New Years day was excellent after a fresh snow fall the night before. This week looks much quieter in the resorts which will be a bit of a relief after the the busy start to the season so far. All our chalets have guests in this week however there are a few empty beds in the One in Raffort, all in all a good start to the New Year.
